Styling Trust! How My HairDresser Shapes More Than Just My Hair.
Indeed, the very hairs on your head are all numbered. Do not fear; you are more valuable than many sparrows. Luke 12:7
Men and women tend to disagree on so many things. You know that ole saying men are from Mars and women are from Venus? We disagree about money, sex, friends, pets, marriage, relationships, and everything in between.
The one thing men and women can agree on without saying a word is how good we feel when we get our hair cut, styled, or doo done. There is nothing that makes you feel better than having a fresh doo. Going to our hairstylist is where we can go and catch up on what’s happening in our communities/ the hood. The barbershop, hairdresser, hairstylist salon, or whatever you want to call it is where we can let our hair down and free our minds.
A place where we get to interact with like-minded people, see people we haven’t seen since our last cut/style and meet new friends. Our hairstylists are where we talk about our home life, jobs, plans, sports, and politics, and for some, express what is on our minds. Instead of paying $100 an hour to talk to a therapist, we tell it to our hair stylists.
Guess what, they listen. They don’t judge or make us feel bad, they give us advice when we ask them and make us look and feel good at the same time.
