What’s Wrong With Being Good To Yourself?

To acquire wisdom is to love oneself. Proverbs 19:8

When I was growing up I remember when we were kids we were not allowed to go in the living room and sit on the furniture with the clear plastic covering it was wrapped in. My mother had that same attitude with the good china and the sterling silverware she kept in the china cabinet. It was not to be touched. It felt like we weren’t good enough to use the good stuff.

Now that I am all grown up I am blessed to live in a home where I get to eat out of everyday China and eat my food using quality silverware. “By any means am I saying I am better than anyone else? Being deprived of what makes you happy or feel good, can leave a stain on you mentally as you get older.” I feel the same way about baloney sandwiches, I ate so many of them when I was little, that you couldn’t pay me to eat a balcony sandwich today.

I bet you have things that you had to put up with or had to eat when you were young that you wouldn’t dare do or eat now that you are older. Now, you decide what you get to do with your life. Why? “Because it’s your life and you are in control.”

That’s exactly how I feel about being good to myself. When people hear me say this, they automatically think I am selfish—not realistically selfish. If I don’t care for myself to the best of my ability…

I write to inspire others as well as myself. If I can make some money along the way, I see that as another form of inspiration.https://beeready315.medium.com/su
